Self-paced, instructor support via Zoom

About

This online, self-paced class provides an introduction to interpreting and is intended for bilingual individuals who are currently interpreting for their organization or who wish to interpret for their organizations/companies.  It is also an ideal class for bilingual individuals who are interested in learning more about becoming an interpreter.  Topics include standards of practice, interpreting methods and techniques, protocols, and interpreting ethics.  Participants will be provided with tools and resources to increase their vocabulary and interpreting skill set.

This online, self-paced class consists of approximately 20 hours of eLearning modules that participants complete on their own, four live instructor-led discussions and activities via Zoom, and a final knowledge check.

Participants who complete the class will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Completion of this class does not qualify a participant to be a trained interpreter.
