About

This training will equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize these digital tools to empower clients and streamline the benefits application and management process.   ABE and Manage My Case are user-friendly online portals developed by Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) to facilitate access to a wide range of public assistance programs, including Medicaid, SNAP, cash assistance, and more. These platforms offer individuals the convenience of applying for benefits, submitting documentation, checking application status, and managing their cases online, from the comfort of their own homes.   During this training, participants will receive a comprehensive overview of applying through ABE.

  • Introduction to ABE and Manage My Case: Understanding the features and functionalities of the website.
  • Benefits of Digital Access: Exploring how ABE and Manage My Case streamline the benefits application and management process for clients and caseworkers alike.
  • Navigating the Platform: Step-by-step guidance on how to create an account, submit applications, upload documents, and access important information.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Strategies for addressing common issues and providing assistance to clients who may encounter challenges while using the platforms.
  • Best Practices for Client Engagement: Tips for effectively promoting ABE and Manage My Case to clients and encouraging digital self-service options for benefits access and management.
