About
This online, self-paced class provides an introduction to interpreting and is intended for bilingual individuals who are currently interpreting for their organization or who wish to interpret for their organizations/companies. It is also an ideal class for bilingual individuals who are interested in learning more about becoming an interpreter. Topics include standards of practice, interpreting methods and techniques, protocols, and interpreting ethics. Participants will be provided with tools and resources to increase their vocabulary and interpreting skill set.
The dates and times of four interactive sessions will be shared with participants upon registration. Sessions will include live discussions and actitivies.
A final knowledge check will be conducted via Zoom on December 8th.
Participants who complete the class will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Completion of this class does not qualify a participant to be a trained interpreter.
