Residential Integration

Residential Integration:  Using a “Dissimilarity Index,” DuPage appears to have better residential integration of people from diverse backgrounds than is found in other parts of the Chicago region.  The Index was used to measure racial and ethnic integration as well as economic integration.  Higher levels of integration can offer opportunities for addressing disparities described in other sections of this Community Assessment.  However, integration in DuPage is not ideal, and separation between groups is increasing, suggesting that attention should be given to this issue.
